The Hesketh Hubbard Art Society is offering three free year-long membership bursaries to current art students or young artists that are between the ages of 18 to 30 at the close of submissions.
Each bursary recipient will be able to attend weekly life drawing sessions at Mall Galleries free of charge for a year, starting from January 2023. They will also get the opportunity to exhibit their work at the Society’s Annual Exhibition, also at Mall Galleries.
Sessions take place on Friday evenings and selected Monday evenings, between 6:00pm and 8:15pm.
Mentoring and support for each student will be provided at the beginning of the bursary period.
You can work in any medium or media, subject to general guidelines for working in the gallery spaces (for example, no Indian ink).
Even though we understand that there might be times when you will be unable to attend the drawing sessions, frequent absences could result in the bursary being withdrawn.
Please write a short statement about each piece which will help us to see how the bursary would help you develop your own artistic practice.
Upon receipt of all applications, we will invite shortlisted candidates for an interview at Mall Galleries before confirming the final bursary recipients.
Before applying, please review the Hesketh Hubbard Code of Conduct.
